How to Clean your Engine in 4 Easy Steps
Remove Debris
The first step in cleaning your engine is to remove the excess debris that gets trapped under the hood. A medium to high pressure jet of water will remove loose debris and begin to soften surface contaminants. Be careful not to get water in engine’s electrical components.
Engine Cleaner or Degreaser
Follow with an engine cleaner or degreaser such as
Sonus All-In-One Total Auto Cleaner or
Four Star Products Multi-Purpose Cleaner. Spray a generous amount of cleaner on engine and engine compartment surfaces. Agitate with a sturdy brush to loosen remaining contaminants.
Rinse
Rinse with a jet of water to remove remaining dirt, grease and grime. For areas with heavy soiling a second application of cleaner may be required.
Dry and Protect
Allow engine to dry completely before applying a coating of protectant.
Sonus Trim & Motor Kote offers outstanding protection to engine components. It prevents drying and delays the degradation of rubber hoses, plastic clips and cables. And it deposits a protective barrier on metal, aluminum and painted surfaces making them dust resistant.
The Ideal Solution
Sonus Trim & Motor Kote is a water-based, non-flammable engine, undercarriage and trim dressing that is safe for all engine compartment surfaces and is an ideal solution for large areas of plastic cladding including truck bed liners, rocker panels, wheel well liners and black plastic valances.
